If you are not signed up for PlayStation®Plus or an Xbox Live Gold membership, you cannot play online multiplayer. You can still play single-player mode, as well as play co-op missions by yourself. However, online multiplayer is where METAL GEAR SURVIVE really shines, so we do recommend playing the game having signed up for either PlayStation®Plus or an Xbox Live Gold membership.
